This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 02, 2008:
beautiful rocks
Knowledge is learned, wisdom is experienced
Knowledge is in the head, wisdom is body centered
Knowledge can be passed on, wisdom can't
Knowledge is horizontal, wisdom is vertical
Knowledge can be owned, wisdom can never be captured.

Help

Wise woman you are…
I am so wise that I admit I made an error in my own writing. I meant that knowledge is horizontal and wisdom is vertical, still kind of wonky today :)

Are you sure that it's true that wisdom can't be passed on? Does your post not pass on wisdom? I find that when I am in the presence of a wise person, I become wiser …
Namaste,
Taj
Great insight Taj!
Taj, how very wise of you and hmmmm, yes, I see! What wisdom did you gain from the post?
Zoey, you can STILL edit your original message above to correct it. This is how we can change the past to reflect a future that is always in motion.
Profundity, yes, of course, I can re-write the past, thank you for the reminder!
This is awesome, thanks so much for passing along your, eh-hem, wisdom…. ;-)
I would also challenge the assumption that we're unable to pass along wisdom.
I sit with the memory of my grandmother, and I feel wiser for having allowed myself the time to truly know her. The choices she made influence the choices I make from a deeper place within myself where the memory of her resides.
I'm wiser when I sit with the ancient wisdom that exists within my 12 year old son. He's brought me to that place within myself.
I'm wiser because of the choices I make to extend my life, when I reflect upon the choices my father made that shortened his life.
I do believe that we are able to 'impart' wisdom, but in my own experience that only occurs when my heart is open to receive the information that my head can't always fully understand.
Knowledge–I know, therefore I am
Wisdom–I am, therefore I know
Thank you all for these wonderful wise comments and distinctions.
